Nombasa Menziwa joined Sisonke in 2022 as the provincial coordinator in our East London office. Raised by her grandmother in Duncan Village, a predominantly black suburb in East London, she matriculated from Green Point Secondary School before serving as a volunteer worker at one of the organisations in East London. Nombasa’s passion for community service stems from her grandmother’s teaching who taught her the spirit of Ubuntu. From witnessing the atrocities of sex workers while a volunteer, Nombasa invested even more time in understanding the tricks of the trade and how she could be of assistance to those in need. Added to her role as Sisonke’s provincial coordinator, Nombasa serves in the Eastern Cape Civil Society Aids Council Sex Work Sector.
